PLANTASIA Artist Talk

PLANTASIA is a Conscious Desgn and Experiential Exhibit examining how art intersects wellness— an exploration of the biophilic environment, setting the stage for our All-Star Featured Gallery Artist Talk: Brandy Michele Adams, Autumn Leppla & Jana Renée.

PLANTASIA is about women waking from their dreams and realizing they are already living them. Once defined as a gallery, We Are All Stars has transformed into a garden designed to offer rest to those who become immersed in the work— offering a space where dreams and growth are cultivated.

Curated by Brandy Michele Adams, PLANTASIA’s programming is designed to guide women back to their inner landscape through actively and communally experiencing her living plant installation.

Adams invited local All Star Artists, Jana Renée and Autumn Leppla, to partner in this exhibition and grow beautiful conversations about sleeping states, the future of women, and harnessing the power of the feminine when she awakes. Both Jana and Autumn’s work evokes the female’s power through sensory engagement and technology, and center around the space where women's healing begins. The talk explored ways to focus excelling the worth of artists’ work who are living, rather than waiting to excel the worth of artists after their passing.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:

  • As a transdisciplinary artist, Brandy Michele Adams’ work bridging the gap between art and wellness through her immersive installations she actively engages to help viewers shift to becoming part of the experience. The PLANTASIA installation is sculpted by metal scaffolding, center blocks, number 9 channel wire, sound bowls, months' worth of studies, and love energy to assemble the conversation that art + sustainability is one as a transdisciplinary artist focused on mental health as health care. Each object symbolizes Adams’ overcoming the challenges of living in a disabled body. With a solid foundation, she regenerated into a leader who teaches others how to build, grow, and sustain by watering one seed at a time.

  • Jana Renée works with classical oil techniques in the studio and uses a combination of latex and spray paint with more modern motifs for her large-scale public works. She incorporates her knowledge of classical portraiture, surrealism, and the Renaissance masters to explore modern themes such as gender equality, freedom of sexuality and Community involvement and support in the arts. Having created 20+ public murals in the Dallas Fort Worth area since 2017, Jana works to create positive conversations about art, community, and strives to put beauty into city landscapes as well as into the home. Jana received her Bachelors of Art at Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2015 and has been actively involved in the arts since.

  • Portrait artist Autumn Leppla works  predominantly with Prisma colors and mix media to bring a modern twist to traditional realism. Growing up in an environment where she had no voice, she uses the expression of emotion and symbolism to speak her thoughts on socio political events. With a strong theme of spirituality and her background in the modeling industry she likes to challenge the viewer with her use of bright colors to alchemize negative experiences into beauty. Autumn hopes to bring attention to the stories we tell ourselves in our minds in order to not fall victims to our environments. She uses her “ugly” thoughts and emotions to transform that energy into something beautiful. Therefore becoming the creator of her life. Merging technology and fine art together she also mints her artworks as NFTs on the blockchain, as well as interactive Augmented Reality on iPhone.

Take a journey inspired by Mother Earth, PLANTASIA explores the minds of women in the arts uplifting each other despite womens’ cultural adversity historically and today.
