"I aspire to be an artist that is as adept as she is passionate. To keep growing, it ’s imperative to constantly humble yourself and be flexible to change. To me, painting is like life. You have to joyfully embrace times of celebration. Equally, you must progress through what ’s hard and confusing: stepping back to think before you act, keep alert to your intuition and wait for the right opportunities—not touching what already has substance and extracting anything that does not contribute. In all, my goal is to make work that occurs organically but has palpable intention and force.
My paintings blend femininity with eeriness and of ten give allusion to hanging canopies— lines and drips pulled taught with soft blurs of color. I choose to paint abstractly because I want the viewer to solely consider movement and color relationships. Additionally, I use oil paint because its smooth and malleable nature is conducive to expressing color’s own richness."
